In this quick post, we want to share with you an easy weekend DIY project idea. Did you know that vintage rugs don't always have to go on your floors? Surely, you've seen an area rug or two displayed proudly on walls like fine art, but there's another great way to display your decorative rugs, especially your rugs that have imperfections or damage.
Using just a few tools you probably already have in your home, you can create a beautiful piece of home decor in just a few steps!
You'll need:
- An area rug or rug fragment
- A chair with removal seat cushion
- Heavy-duty stapler or glue gun
- Scissors
Start by carefully removing the original seat cushion on your chair and discarding the old materials except for the seat foundation.
Next, cut your area rug down to size and fit around the seat cushion foundation, then attach with staples or hot glue. Replace the seat cushion onto your chair and voila!
You've now taken something old and made it new again; enjoy!
